About iERA Australia

Inviting Australia to reconnect with Allah, the Divine.

iERA Australia is a volunteer-led charity that helps people across Australia learn about Islam, and walks beside those who choose to become Muslim. Every program we run is free, for everyone.

Our story

iERA is an international dawah organisation, founded in the United Kingdom in 2010, with 15 years of dawah experience around the world. In Australia, iERA's work is carried out by United Dawah QLD Inc., a Queensland charity established on 3 July 2024 and registered with the ACNC on 2 August 2024, which operates as iERA Australia.

Our mission

We are committed to the Prophetic mission: sharing the teachings of Islam across Australia with intelligence, honesty and compassion. We want to give every person a clear, respectful introduction to Islam, support new Muslims through their first steps and beyond, and equip volunteers to become confident ambassadors of their faith.

Our impact

Alhamdulillah, we have supported more than 100 new Muslims, including 65 people in a single Ramadan through our events. Every week, new Muslims join our classes to keep learning and growing.

What we do

Free Quran.Read the Quran online straight away, collect a printed copy from our pickup point, or have a printed English translation posted to you anywhere in Australia, at no cost.
Islam 101, one-on-one.A relaxed 30-minute online chat with a trained volunteer. Ask anything. There is no pressure.
New Muslim Support.A mentor of the same gender who checks in at your pace, a free welcome pack with a prayer mat and a Quran, a free 13-lesson online course, and classes: a Sunday class in Brisbane City (11 am to 2 pm, with lunch for registered attendees), an online Wednesday class for brothers, and a free six-session online New Muslim Support course.
Learn to pray.A practical, movement-by-movement salat workshop.
Dawah stalls.Friendly information tables at markets, stations and city centres, with free Qurans and guides, in Queensland, New South Wales, Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory.
Training and volunteering.Free dawah training, our iE Guide program that matches volunteers with new Muslims of the same gender, and a pathway for people who want to start iERA in their own city.
Schools and community groups.Have No Doubt is a free, interactive two-hour session for Muslim students in Years 10 to 12 and at university. We also work with masjids, schools, universities and community groups.

Where we work

Free Qurans, Islam 101 chats, mentoring and online classes are available anywhere in Australia. Our volunteers run regular dawah stalls and events in five states and territories: Queensland, New South Wales, Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory.

How we are funded

iERA Australia is funded by donations from the community, including Zakat and Sadaqah. Donations pay for our programs and for the essential running costs that keep them going, such as compliance and paperwork, our website and technology systems, and our social media outreach. Zakat is directed to the Quranic category of Mu'allafat al-Qulub: mentoring, education and ongoing support for new Muslims.

We are a registered charity but not a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR), so donations are not tax-deductible.

Who we are, legally

Our committee is listed publicly on our ACNC Charity Register entry.
